The
KU Applied Portfolio Management Program has new research out covering a variety of companies the class has investigated this semester. The research includes coverage of important portfolio holdings like Inergy, and new positions like Winnebago, which the class purchased after a great presentation from Mark Whitaker of Wellington Asset Management.
For those of you unfamiliar with the KU APM program, since its founding in 1994 by hedge fund manager Kent McCarthy, the APM has allows students to run a real investment portfolio, now valued at just under $1 million. Each week the students in the class research a company and write a full research report, the class then votes to buy or sell the company.
The portfolio has performed well, consistently beating its benchmarks.
